About the Organization (অধিদপ্তর সম্পর্কে)
The Department of Disaster Management (DDM) under the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief was set up in November 2012 following the enactment of the Disaster Management Act 2012. The department serves to implement the objectives of the act by undertaking risk reduction activities, responding to disaster events efficiently, and strengthening disaster risk reduction (DRR) and disaster risk management (DRM) programs across Bangladesh.
